GAV stands as a legendary figure in the Romanian communication industry, shaping the landscape for years as a leading independent advertising agency. Founded in 2003 by Lucian Georgescu, a stalwart in the national cultural and creative sectors, GAV quickly emerged as a trailblazer. Lucian, recognized as the first Romanian creative to helm a communication multinational during the “Golden Era” of Romanian advertising (BBDO, 1999-2003), introduced groundbreaking concepts to the market.

In a pioneering move, Lucian spearheaded the introduction of cultural marketing to Romania in the early 2000s. This innovation birthed iconic campaigns such as “Sibiu, Cultural Capital of Europe 2007,” a watershed moment in advertising history that resonated far beyond national borders.

With a commitment to pushing boundaries, GAV became the first national agency to herald the “death of advertising” and embrace a new era of “content creation & acceleration.” Evolving rapidly into the digital realm, GAV specialized in content creation with instant global delivery, pioneering multimedia storytelling communication.

Over the years, GAV serviced esteemed clients including Mercedes Benz, Lindab, Unilever, Selgros, Bosch, La Fantana, Lactate SIM, The City of Sibiu (Hermannstadt), TIFF, Billa, OBI and more, delivering high-quality content across diverse formats and platforms, setting industry standards and adapting seamlessly to evolving media landscapes.

In 2022, Lucian Georgescu embarked on a new chapter, metamorphosing the spirit of GAV into CINEPUB, the inheritor of his legacy of innovation and creative exploration. Originating as a GAV event brand in the TIFF (Transylvania Film Festival’s) 2005 edition, cinepub.ro carries forward today, into the new digital era, the GAV ethos, merging business with art, cinema with advertising, and traditional distribution with streaming and curated experiences.
